Thomas Kubista has extensive experience in Physics and Systems Engineering.  With over 20 years of operational experience in the Navy, he is ideally suited to solve highly technical integration issues for Navy programs related to Electronic Warfare and Information Warfare. Operation flight experience:  A-6 Intruder, ES-3 Shadow, EP-3 Aries, P-3C Orion, EA-6B Prowler and F-14 Tomcat. Test and Evaluation (T&E) experience:  EA-18G Growler and EA-6B Prowler. Training experience: T-34, T-2, T-47, TA-4, S-3 and TC-4C aircraft. Specialized experience:  Electronic Warfare, Information Warfare and Naval Operational Planning.

  • Associate Chair, Physics Department, US Naval Academy at US Navy

    Associate Chairman of a department consisting of 12 military and 23 civilian faculty educating 85 physics majors and 1,100 non-physics majors annually. Responsible for a $10+ million scientific laboratory and $165,800 annual expense budget. Taught General Physics I (physical mechanics), General Physics II (electricity and magnetism) and Ethics and Moral Reasoning for the Naval Leader 10 hours per week in the classroom in addition to Associate Chair duties. Spearheaded first comprehensive review of Naval Academy Physics Department in 10 years including an external review by a team of experts from three universities.

  • Plans Branch, U.S. Naval Forces Central Command / U.S. Fifth Fleet at US Navy

    Lead planner for all naval operational and contingency planning in an area of responsibility comprised of 20 countries spanning over four million square miles. Coordinated and led the planning efforts for 15 key contingency plans and multiple crisis planning events in the Middle East and Eastern Africa. Lead planner for operation to rescue a U.S. citizen captured by pirates.

Helped define the future of the Navy through rigorous research, analysis and gaming processes. Developed advanced strategic and operational concepts.
